4th of July BBQ

The 4th of July BBQ is scheduled for Saturday, July 5th, starting at 4pm. Enjoy water games and barbecued chicken, ribs, rice, fries, and salad from Bloomfield's The Pit restaurant. Costs for the meals are $10 per adult, $5 per child. Dessert and drinks are included.

Swim for A Cause Fundraiser

The Glen Ridge Community Pool will be holding a Swim for a Cause fundraiser on Saturday July 26, 2008. We are going to donate all proceeds to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.

The event will begin at 10:00 am and end at 6:00 pm

You can help the GRCP raise money by obtaining donations and pledges for every lap you swim. You can also help by dropping off canned foods at the day of the event.

Swimmers young and old are encouraged to get pledges from their family and friends, for example: $1.00 per every lap completed, or a flat rate for your effort. And these dollars work hard--for every dollar the GRCP raises, the Community Food Bank of New Jersey is able to distribute $8 -$11 worth of food and groceries! Wow, now that’s a great return on your investment!

Here’s how it works:

1. If you want to swim, pick a time slot at the front gate, and a sponsor sheet (available now). Collect some sponsors. Then show up on July 26th at the appropriate time to swim. Woo-hoo, you’ve done your part!
2. If you’re not a swimmer, you have two options. First, find a swimmer and sponsor them. Or bring some canned or non-perishable foods to the pool on July 26th. The Community Food Bank will be on hand to collect these donations.
