History of the Glen Ridge Community Pool
Since the 1950s, there had been sporadic movement in Glen Ridge to create a "town pool;" each of these efforts, while
well-intentioned, had difficulty getting off the ground.
In 2002, the effort was rekindled. A newly formed "pool team" rallied over 400 Glen Ridge residents to take a chance
to support the development of the Glen Ridge Community Pool. With this substantial support, and the backing of the
Borough, the Glen Ridge Community Pool opened its doors in 2004.
The Glen Ridge Community Pool is a membership-driven organization not supported by tax-payer dollars. Membership is
open to all residents in Glen Ridge and the surrounding communities.
